April 25, 2026: Donald Trump turns on Candace Owens. What you gonna do now, sis?

Since this is very recent, I’ll try to keep this as brief as possible, as this wasn’t a planned post. But due to people’s opinions on social media, I might as well weigh in on this, too. On April 24, 2026, at 5:42 PM, President Donald Trump unleashed a personal attack on one-time supporter Candace Owens. These two have been trading shots back and forth with each other for a while now, ever since Candace Owens, along with many of Trump’s loyal supporters, started jumping ship before they hit an iceberg called midterms.

But to those who don’t know Candace Owens, here’s a quick summary. Raised in Stamford, Connecticut, and a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. But here’s where the summary gets interesting: she’s African American and a Republican. That’s right! A black republican. Now, before you start calling me a lefty, just know that I’m not. I have no political affiliation. With that being said, Us Africans Americans know the history of most black republicans and their mentality. Most, especially those who grew up wealthy/privileged (not saying Candace Owens was), but those who were have that mentality, like they’re better than others. They believe just because they’re black, they don’t have the same beliefs, or are simply tone deaf. It’s even worse when the topic of race comes up. Most usually, ignore the fact that race plays a part in today’s society. And often their replies are “Well, I’m black, that doesn’t offend me or I’m black, successful and educated, so what’s your excuse?” Back to Candace, she’s been controversial for trolling African Americans and, at times, catering to Caucasian Americans. Oh, also, she’s married to a White Man. Before you call me a racist, you can stop right there! I’m not racist, nor do I have a problem with interracial relationships/marriages. However, I have a problem with those who insult their own race to please their favored race. I see Black men do it as well as Black women. Everyone has a preference, but you don’t have to put down your race just to lift the opposite race.

Now, just because you’re black, that doesn’t mean you have to be a Democrat/liberal or have to like and listen to rap. Some people don’t like rap because of the profanity, etc. I get it, not too many people want to hear that. But for many others, it’s all entertainment just like watching violent movies or TV shows. Candace has been known to dislike hip-hop. But I guess growing up in Stamford, CT, you don’t hear too many folks driving around listening to rap. Unless it’s Kanye West and you’re wearing matching White Lives Matter shirts. Owens, as well as many well-known African Americans, became huge Donald Trump supporters since he first announced his run for office. Each of them bragged, and yes, I will say kissed his ass in front of the world. But I guess the turning point was the Epstein files cover-up controversy and now the unplanned war with Iran, which resulted in U.S. military officers, along with innocent civilians in Iran, being killed. Many have expressed their thoughts on the war, the current economy, and the Epstein files. And as you see it now, Donald Trump doesn’t like it. He hates it when people start seeing the truth and see right through his bullshit. No one’s kissing his ass as much as they were from the beginning. During all the racial sensitivity, misogynistic, and xenophobic comments. People were okay with it because it didn’t bother them, and sadly, some thought it was funny.

Like the saying goes, it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. And this time I’m talking about feelings. I’ll repeat the same thing I said on my social media. Ice Cube’s 1991 Death Certificate album might be the most realest and relevant album ever released. No one was spared. 35 years later, things haven’t changed. He talked about many topics that you can bring up today. True To The Game is a song off that same album that details Black people selling out, and you guess where I’m going with this one. The third verse of that song best describes people like Kanye West, Candace Owens,  Senator Tim Scott, and many others.

Overall, I’m one of many African Americans who don’t feel sorry for Candace Owens being insulted by Donald Trump. For years, she supported and hyped this man up while tearing down Blacks. The irony of Trump stating that she “Uses Rich White Men.” Looking back, when Candace wore a White Lives Matter shirt. Can’t find an idiom to describe this.
