Ok, lately there’s so much going on in the world today, and we don’t know what to expect next. But I guess that’s a part of life. You never know what’s going to happen. I honestly don’t know where to begin since there’s nothing but chaos. So it’s safe to say this is what you call a rant blog. The first of many to come by the way life’s been going. So why not address the elephants in the room?
Here we have Kanye West, arguably the most influential rapper/producer in the past two decades. Now he’s in a situation where, when your mental health isn’t dealt with sooner, it can lead to bad decision-making and also say irrational shit. I’ve said for years that he hasn’t been the same since his mother Donda West (RIP) passed in 2007, along with the breakup with Amber Rose after 2 years of dating. So it’s very common to suffer from depression after losing something or someone very close to your heart. I, too, suffered a loss and battled depression for years afterward with no help or guidance. But honestly, I’m more amazed at how African Americans weren’t outraged by his comments slandering George Floyd and what really was the cause of his death. After we all witness what we saw on video. So for Kanye to make that statement saying “the guy really didn’t have his knee on his neck” is beyond blasphemous. Then had the audacity to show up to a premiere with another troll Candance Owens, who clearly has identity issues. And I even once saw a tweet from a user saying that she’s “Tomi Lahren in blackface”. That’s a bit of a stretch, but nonetheless, she and Kanye were wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt at the documentary premiere called “The Greatest Lie Ever Sold”. It’s crazy, like I said, how that was dismissed, but folks were on board with his antisemitic comments. Not only on board with that, but upset that he was dropped by companies that he partnered with because of his controversial statements.
You can’t say you’re gonna be all about peace after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. But then turn around and go on a tirade saying you’re going “Death con 3 on Jewish people”. All for what? Knowing a person like him who lets his narcissism get in his own way. You probably couldn’t get what you asked for at Adidas. A company that granted you royalties, something Nike refused to do, and that’s why you left them. But to attack a company that didn’t really need to partner with you as a “black” man, and on top of that, still gave you your royalties. So who knows what really happened during that meeting with the executives at Adidas? But one thing is for sure: he dug himself a deep ass hole that he can’t get out of, so now he’s lashing out at people who have nothing to do with his issue. From Lebron James, Shaq, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, P. Diddy, Meek Mill, and others. Even recently, Kim Kardashian finally had enough of his bullshit and called it quits on the marriage. Once again, another loss in life, he’s having a hard time dealing with. I truly believe all this lashing out is a cry for help, but that pride won’t let him admit it. All those people close to him who are so-called friends know he has a mental health issue and can get him help, but they’re only ignoring it and staying silent, which is terrible. What I said before on my Instagram is that if Kanye comes out and says “I’m tired of being black. At times I wish I were white”. I’m willing to bet “most”, not all, thankfully, will be like “Danm, he’s right. I wish I was white too”. When I posted that, as always, it got swept under the ru,g and no one acknowledged it. But I’m going to keep on saying that he needs help and that people better take his mental health seriously before he ends up hurting himself or someone else. And then it’ll be too late. To the mothers out there who think hearing him about to lose his kids because he’s coming off as unfit, just think about if he were your kids’ father. Would you put up with stalking and harassment? How would you feel if you moved on to another relationship and you find out that your ex buys a house across the street or next to where you live?? That’s stalking shit. I personally know mothers who got restraining orders on their kids’ fathers just so they can keep their fathers away from the kids. An easy way to put them on child support.
Now, as for Kyrie Irving, I’ll try to make this as short as possible. His talent on the court is remarkable and cannot be denied. Some say his ball-handling skills are the likes of hall of fame great Allen Iverson. He’s truly an offensive threat that leaves defense at times double-teaming him. With all that said, off-court, let’s call him for what he is, a…never mind, because I don’t want to get into the name-calling. You can read on and see what he is. But anyway, he’s been on some weirdo shit for years now, and I don’t know why people can’t see that. Hopefully, this current controversy can finally shed light on his way of thinking. Don’t forget this is the same individual who seriously believes that the world is flat. Enough said right there! The same person shares Alex Jones, a well-known, controversial conspiracy theorist. You can’t share/retweet a controversial antisemitic video or comment on Twitter and think it’s ok. And all he had to do was apologize and keep it moving. But nope, his slow-talking self dragged it on and thought nothing was wrong with it. Till the NBA finally suspended him for it. That’s when he decided to apologize. I don’t care what anyone says, once you retweet someone’s tweet on Twitter. It’s a co-sign! So for the past week or so, everyone has been bringing up the fact that he donates money to charity and etc which is good, and I applaud him for that. But people shouldn’t use his generosity as a defense. The only thing that aggravated me is that people treated him like he was a victim.
My final take on all this is really simple. Let it marinate for a bit. White supremacists support Kanye West’s comments on Jewish people. Yes, read that back slowly and think about that. For the past weeks, I have watched people make these ridiculous theories on what Kanye and Kyrie, aka “KanRie” have been saying. One thing I hate is a toxic person playing victim. They are both toxic. One has a mental health issue, let his toxicity show, and the other again is just a weirdo and at times even has locker-room problems with his own teammates. That’s why “some” players in the NBA don’t want to play alongside him despite his talent. As an African American, it’s troubling seeing how quick we are to “follow” someone into the abyss (no pun intended) just because we might idolize them. KanRie have both even gotten “fake” online prophets involved as well, trying to capitalize on this topic. I saw one fake leader tweet, “Nike is officially on the Boycott list”, in response to Nike parting ways with Kyrie over the backlash. Like, let’s be real. Do you really believe people are going to boycott Nike, the makers of the Jordan brand? I don’t think so. I strongly doubt people, mostly African Americans, will stop wearing Nike. I’ll come out and say it, what KanRie said was wrong! The sad part is that they don’t see the harm they’re doing. All they’re doing is contributing to the hate that’s already been on high alert since the former President was in office.
Wrong is wrong, no matter what race or religion it is. If you’re wrong, you’re wrong plain and simple. So please, people, don’t follow these people on the wrong path just because you idolized them or, more importantly, they’re famous with a huge following. I’ll say this again, where were the black leaders when Kanye wore that White Lives Matters shirt or when he disrespected the George Floyd family? As soon as he said something about a certain religion, that’s when people jumped up, applauded, and sided with him. Even more troubling started boycotting companies that distanced themselves from him and Kyrie. You can’t say what you said and then apologize after the fact because you got dropped by a company that’s making you rich. Then, after the apology, still go on a tirade, throwing people into the mix that didn’t have anything to do with it. That’s typical toxic shit. We need to stop sympathizing with toxic people who are playing victim. We need to start normalizing what’s right and what’s wrong no matter how popular the topic it is. Motherfuckers talking about making America great again, how about making America “rational” again. Some might even think America wasn’t rational from the beginning, but it doesn’t hurt to start. You would think nuclear warfare, climate change, or an asteroid on a collision course with earth will be the end of life as we know it. But really, self-inflicted matters like racism, religion, narcissism, and politics are the reason why humanity is in jeopardy.
