Now this will definitely be a controversial topic. I debated with myself whether I wanted to get into it. But since this is recent news, like 5 days ago, recent. I decided to go on with it. There was no preparation for this. This is strictly on the fly because I felt like I should weigh in as well. Obviously, I am not an investigator nor trying to portray myself as one. Unlike a lot of people, you see flooding social media and other news sites with their take on the subject.
Jay-Z, better known as Hov (b. Shawn Carter). At one time, the rapper was battling for the Crown and to be king of The Empire State over his rap peers. And yes, just like the image above, we were all shocked and confused to hear the news about him being in the infamous Epstein files. Talk about a bombshell that had everyone running to social media with opinions. And it even had loyal fans jumping to his defense. While others who were never fans of his are now investigators and prosecutors, and are hoping that his downfall will be their happiness. I swear, people Pray for the wrong reasons. But anyway, the only person who I feel should have a slight joy is probably Dame Dash, and for obvious reasons. He has a legit reason to resent Jay-Z. Regardless of how old the events were, he will always feel a certain way towards him, and he has a right to. And even him as of now, hasn’t responded to the shocking allegations towards his former friend and business partner Jay-Z. You would think Dame of all people would be the first to be jumping up and down, screaming to everyone about how he told us that Jay was foul.” People online are going as far back as the allegations of Jay-Z being in a relationship with Aaliyah, who was underage at the time. That was not the case, and even Dame Dash shot down those allegations. For the fact that he himself was in a romantic relationship with Aaliyah before her tragic death in August 2001. And also, Dame himself said he would never date one of his friends’ ex-girlfriends, even if the 2 were trying to get with that person. Dame’s moral code will let him take that loss and move on to the next.

NYC 1996
So that was my opening statement. Now let’s really get into these claims, which have been released by the DOJ, alleging that in 1996, Jay-Z was present and involved in a sexual assault that took place in Jeffrey Epstein’s Florida mansion.
Well, first, before people actually sat down and think they were so quick to add their opinion and were quick to call Jay-Z guilty. I saw many people on social media talking about Jeffrey Epstein’s island in 1996. Which is false, because Jeffrey didn’t purchase the now infamous island until 1998, which has been documented. We’re talking about 1996, y’all! Some of the people commenting and adding their two cents were either too young or simply weren’t even born yet. In 1996, Jay-Z wasn’t even Hov or Jigga Man; he often called himself Iceberg Slim. Some of y’all didn’t even know that because they’re not fans or, simply once again, were too young or weren’t born during that time period. He was 26 years old at that time when he finally released his debut album, which many dubbed a classic Reasonable Doubt. Before that, he, along with his business partners Dame Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, was trying to secure a distribution deal. You think they were thinking about Hollywood or planning trips around the world? He just wanted to be in the Rap game. So you have to ask yourself, how can someone who wasn’t big in the music industry or at least was only a rookie at that time, be affiliated with someone as powerful as Jeffrey Epstein in the year of 1996? Jay-Z was being rejected by multiple record companies and, as a result, started Roc-A-Fella Records with his business partners.
You don’t have to be a fan or a hater of his to actually think about the dates and timeline. It doesn’t add up. No way a 26-year-old who was a Dope Man, aka drug dealer, trying to become a rapper and struggling to get a deal would be in the same area as Jeffrey Epstein. Now, if you want to make an argument about maybe 2006 or 2016 Jay hanging around Epstein, then you can state that. By that time, Jay-Z was a well-known businessman and on a Paper chase to become the first billionaire rapper. Which he finally achieved in 2019. The DOJ documents stated that the FBI got a tip about Jay-Z during that year. Ask yourself, why would the FBI stay silent about that back then? Especially a perfect opportunity to tear down the first rap billionaire. But again, that period can be questioned and debated. But ‘96 Jay? I just don’t see it. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying a crime wasn’t committed, I just don’t see Jay–Z being part of that back then. Nicki Minaj has been on a tirade with slanding Jay-Z after one point, saying he was one of her biggest inspirations. This all stems from a financial dispute that happened years ago involving Tidal. Because she felt that he cheated her out of millions after the sale of Tidal, she feels this is the perfect way to get revenge. Anything to Takeover the headlines. Nicki, as of now writing this and you’re reading this, has been slamming not only Jay-Z, but other celebrities such as Lizzo and even criticizing the Grammys, for which in her career she has been nominated numerous times with 0 wins. Me, in my opinion, I believe she has been compromised. They have something on her, which is the result of her sudden political stance. Again, people are entitled to their opinions and political beliefs, especially when they’re online, because most likely they will never see the celebrity they criticized in person or even have the courage to express how they feel. Jay-Z probably won’t file a lawsuit against a hater online or a blogger like me, but don’t be surprised if he doesn’t go after a well-known celebrity like Nicki Minaj for spreading false allegations as a Public service announcement. As an example, she compared Jay–Z’s alleged underage relationship with Aaliyah to what he’s been accused of associating with Jeffrey Epstein in his underage sex crimes back in 1996. If Jay-Z files a lawsuit, it would be the right thing to do, and you can’t blame him if he’s innocent and wasn’t a part of any wrongdoing.
Also, I wanna add that it’s very hypocritical of her to accuse him of something when her own brother has been sentenced to prison for child rape. And let’s not forget about her husband, who is a registered sex offender. The saying “Don’t throw stones at a glass house” comes to mind in this situation. She better not switch up if a lawsuit happens. She’d better Stick 2 the Script. It’s not a coincidence that all of this is happening before the upcoming Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. Everyone’s aware of the controversial decision to have Bad Bunny be the main performer for the halftime show. The outrage is only coming from the MAGA world, but that’s typical Politics as usual. It so happens that Jay-Z is behind who gets to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. Some people just hate, and it’s just a shame that after Sean “P. Diddy” Combs conviction over his crimes, people are so quick to tear down another successful African American. Is Jay a saint? Absolutely not, in today’s society, who is?
I will end this by saying, “IF” and yes, I capitalize it for a reason. “IF” Shawn Carter, better known as Jay-Z, was involved, and there is clear hard evidence of what he was accused of what he did during that time period. He should be dealt with in court and get the same treatment Sean “P. Diddy” Combs did. All his achievements and accolades should be disgraced. No longer the so-called GOAT, just a donkey with a tarnished Legacy. Overall, the victims of sex crimes should not only have their voices heard, but also deserve justice!
“Every day I wake, I see a wake,
so I vacate where it’s safe at/
No, I ain’t scared, I’m just afraid that I’ll kill you and wind up giving all this paper that I made back.” -Jay Z.
A lyric to think about!
